Downtown Friday is pleased to welcome for the first time on 14th Avenue the 4-man energetic John Quinlivan Band (JQB). JQB is Blues based Rock and Roll band that is musically exceptional but more importantly, entertaining and fun to watch. JQB plays fun music; almost always their own way. You will enjoy the wide variety of selections that are always danceable and fun. All together JQB will take the listener through blues, rock and roll, country, R&B, funk and jazz with tributes to the Beatles, The Doors, The Blues Greats, James Brown, Johnny Cash, Stevie Ray, Eric Clapton, Cream, Led Zeppelin, The Almond Brothers, Marshall Tucker and many many more. John Quinlivan, Paul Santa Maria, Pat Klise and Peter George will play their sounds from the Main Stage from the opening of the party at 5:30 - 6:15 p.m. , 6:45 - 7:15 p.m. and their final block from 8 - 8:30 p.m.
Sleepin’ Dogz will play an eclectic blend of blues, rock, country and jazz from 6:15 - 7:15 p.m. and again from 7:15 -8 p.m. in front of the Rotary Fountain. Comprised of singer-songwriter / guitarist Jeannie Blatus and lead guitarist Leo Burke, her intimate, honest delivery echoes the allure of Sheryl Crow combined with the soulful stylings of Bonnie Raitt. She can conjure up the vein-popping, sweaty, powerful rocker within then offer a healthy dose of sweet, smooth, and sultry. Leo Burke’s guitar work adds an edgy excitement to the music. His poignant playing tastefully weaves throughout the songs often harmonizing with Jeannie’s vocals. Their mutual love of music grew into a love for each other that is undeniably evident on stage. Together they put on a passionate performance.
The piece de resistance is courtesy of Fort Pierce Jai Alai who is bringing their Poker Octoberfest to the Streets of Vero Beach too! About Downtown Friday
Vero
Beach's popular street party features live music, craft vendors,
community booths and
food & drink along 14th Avenue between 20th & 21st
Streets. The
party runs from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm and is held 4 times a year.
History:
The
first Downtown Friday was held October, 1994 as a means to bring
awareness to the downtown district as well as raising money for
projects to enhance downtown. Since that time, thousands of
dollars has been donated to the City of Vero Beach from Main Street
Vero Beach (formerly know as the Downtown Vero Beach Association)
for enhancements to the eclectic requirements in the Downtown Friday
block (14th Avenue between 20th and 21st Streets), and the addition
of old-fashioned lampposts to the same area.
The
event was held the last Friday of each month, every month, for
about nine years. Following a loss of volunteers, the event took
a short hiatus and returned as a special event, being held approximately
4 times yearly as a special event. The location, formally known
as a the Downtown Friday block, remains as the main spot for the
events, although some events demand larger space; hence, the block
is extended to include 21st Street between 13th and 15th Avenues.
Vendor Information:
Booths are
purchased: $35 for MSVB members and charities; $100 for non-members
which includes one year MSVB membership fee and subsequent events

a proposal to be the Charity of the Evening, allowing them a free
