Downtown Dine & Design (3D District)

August 27, 2010 from 5 - 9 PM

The Downtown Dine & Design district is an area of Vero Beach that surrounds 14th Avenue south of Route 60. The defining boundaries are between 15th Avenue & Old Dixie Highway, from Route 60 to 18th St.

The merchants of the 3D District host open-house strolls approximately 3 times a year, in the Spring, Summer and Winter. Hundreds of visitors tour the businesses, shops, galleries, and restaurants, while listening to The Groove Smooth Jazz.

Each event has a different theme and visitors are encouraged to participate in games to introduce them to the merchants. Raffle tickest are sold so visitors can win fabulous prizes from the merchants as well as support the efforts of the Cultural Council of Indian River County and Main Street Vero Beach.

Strolls

The next event is the After Dark Gallery Stroll scheduled for Friday, August 27 from 5-9 PM.

Merchants are invited to create their own presentation and promotion for each event,  therefore generating a unique vitality for each separate event. The list of participating merchants varies with each stroll.

History

The inaugural event was held in the Spring of 2009 to benefit "Save the Chimps." Gallery 14 hosted an exhibit of abstract paintings by the rescued chimpanzees as well as portraits of the chimp artists by Barbara Sharp. The event was a huge success both in attendance and in support of "Save the Chimps" and the Cultural Council of Indian River County.

The "Sizzling Summer Stroll" held in August of 2009 benefited the Cultural Council of Indian River County and Main Street Vero Beach. Attendees visited local merchants to collect stickers on cards to be entered in a drawing for a cash prize at the end of the evening. The event was festive and enjoyed by all.
